We Help Immigrants

Get a fresh start in America

Immigration can have a positive impact on a community in various ways. It brings cultural diversity, contributing to a vibrant and enriched social fabric. Immigrants often bring unique perspectives, traditions, and skills that enhance the community's cultural and artistic landscape. Immigrants frequently fill labor market gaps, helping to meet workforce demands and promoting economic growth. They often start businesses, create jobs, and contribute to innovation and entrepreneurship. Immigration can revitalize declining neighborhoods by attracting new residents and businesses, leading to increased investment, improved infrastructure, and a sense of community revitalization.

Saving lives,
enriching Communities

Refugee resettlement is a crucial humanitarian effort that offers numerous benefits to both the refugees and the host communities. It provides a lifeline to individuals and families fleeing persecution, conflict, or violence, offering them safety, security, and a chance for a better future. Beyond meeting basic needs, resettlement programs facilitate access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, empowering refugees to rebuild their lives and contribute to their new societies. Additionally, the cultural diversity brought by refugees enriches host communities, fostering social cohesion, cross-cultural understanding, and the exchange of ideas.

Driving Change:

After-School Program

The After-School Program began in 2009 to provide refugee youth with a quality educational enrichment opportunity. The program meets Monday–Thursday during the school calendar. The focus of the program is to provide assistance with homework, build math and reading skills, and help the students successfully integrate into the American school system.

This current year, we are serving youth from several ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from Somalia, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Bhutan, and Nepal. Help us continue supporting the SACC After-School Program. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
